After graduating from the University of London, Goldsmiths' College and the Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität, Munich, Phil White took an additional postgraduate qualification as a teacher and pursued this career in England and Germany, teaching English, German and Communication Studies.
In the mid-80s, he was employed by the language services department of the Siemens Group, where he took on responsibility for translations relating to application software. For almost 20 years, he has been working as a freelance translator concentrating on the fields of IT, electronics, automotive engineering, mechanical engineering and telecommunications.
He founded Keyword Translation Services together with a colleague in 1993 and has managed the business alone since 1998.
